JSON formatter

Validate JSON, format or minify it and display syntax errors.

Validate JSON before using it

JSON requires double-quoted property names and strings. It does not accept comments or a trailing comma after the last item. This tool parses input and prints it with indentation or in compact form.

Example and limitations

Formatting does not change array order. Represent long account identifiers as quoted strings because large JavaScript numbers can lose precision. Do not use formatting as a substitute for understanding data structure.

Does data leave the browser?

No. Parsing and formatting are local, and input is not saved automatically.
